Happy March. Hope everyone enjoy some sunshine. Here's what's happening in this month:
1. 3/10, Spring forward this coming Sunday. Please FORWARD 1 hour on Saturday night, so you won't be late for school on Sunday.
a. Election for 2024-2025 Principal and PTO President.
b. Requirement for Principal: able to speak, read and write fluent in Mandarin Chinese, attending sponsor(TECO) and GPACLS
meetings, travels to varies locations...etc.
c. Requirement for PTO President: can come up with varies fundraise for school, overlook the school and special events
when Principal is not around. No Mandarin language required.
d. If interested please see me or Yao Huang PTO President for more information.
2. 3/17, Midterm. No 3rd period.
3. 3/24 and 3/31, Spring Break, No school, Clark College campus closed.
4. 4/7, Class resume with 3rd period.

Hello AWVCS Family:
As we all know Chinese Lunar New Year is fast approaching. Here's what's going on this month:
1). 2/11, regular school day, no 3rd period, Super Bowl Sunday.
2). 2/18, regular school day. Lunar New Year Celebration at school lobby. We will have pot luck, every family please bring a dish to share.
a). All students arrive at normal school time (1:30 p.m.) and in person if possible.
b). Level 4,6,9 and Adult Conversation I, please check in at room 110.
c). There will be no reward table.
d). Class will run from 1:30 to 2:45 pm.
e). 2:45-3:00 pm, clean up classroom and meet at the lobby.
f). Please invite family and friends to join us in person or online Google Meet. All check in time is at 2:45 p.m.
g). 3:00 pm. Celebration begins.
h). Students can wear their Chinese clothes if they want to.
3). 2/25, regular school day.

3rd period year end ceremony in the lobby. 3:30-4:30 pm.
Ice cream social at 4:30 pm.
*All student lives in local area are require to come in person and take the final exam and stay for ceremony.
Level 3 and up classes will meet in school's lobby at 1:30 pm.

We are offering our courses both online and in-person learning. If you're located out-of-area and would like to learn Chinese, please join us via Google Meet or Zoom. We are also offering in-person for local students. Pease see above attachment.

Here is What's Happening!
- 30th October: Mid-term exam. Please assist students in preparing for the exam.
- 30th October. Halloween Celebration. Kids are welcome to dress up for class. PTO will be handing out a Halloween baggie to all the students. Please have the kids stop by the lobby at the end of class.
- 20th November: Fall presentation & Start of pre-registration for next semester.
- 27th November. No school. Thanksgiving break
- 18th December. Final Exam
- 25th December. No school. Christmas break
- 30th October: Payback books. If you are interested, please let me know. Amy will have an example of this at the lobby. It will be $20. Half of the proceeds will go directly to the school. I will have a signup sheet, or you can email it directly. The sign-up will be for two weeks. We will need a minimum order of 20 books.
- 29th January. Cultural Day. We will be celebrating Lantern Festival during the 3rd period with activities. We will need an organizing committee for the events. I will call a parent meeting to start organizing the event which will include POTLUCK, kids' activities, fund-raising activities (donations and class auctions), and performances.

As the school year begins many local school districts are reopen back in-person learning education full-time. We (AWVCS) are in a very difficult situation due to highly contagious Delta variant spreading fast had me thinking of my staffs and students’ safety as well as public health measure that I had decided to continue online-learning for 2021 Fall Semester.
We appreciate your patience and continue support our school during this challenge time.

Hello Parents:
We are excited to get the school year started. This fall semester we will begin in full remote learning for all students, based on school reopening guidelines issued by the Washington Department of Health.
Class operates on every Sunday from 1:30-3:30. There will be no 3rd period this semester. Schedule will remain the same as in-person with 2-50 minutes class time unless your teacher decides to have multiple break sections.
In the meantime, we want to be sure all students and families have a great start to the year:
