Portland Chinese School
was founded in 1975 and later registered as a non-profit educational organization
in 1988. In 2000, it was officially registered as an alternative private school.
Our mission is to teach Chinese language and culture using traditional Chinese characters
and phonics. Three categories of classes are available for your best interests:
- *Chinese Language & Literature: The graded classes, from kindergarten* to the
twelfth grade, are designed for children to learn speaking, reading and writing
in Chinese language. The Chinese SAT II practice test is also offered to students
from grade 6 and above.
- *Chinese Conversation for Children and Adults: These classes, ranging from beginning
to advanced levels, focus mainly on speaking and comprehension, while reading and
writing will be added at or above the intermediate level. These classes are offered
to both children and adults.
- Preschool Class: This class is offered to 4-year-old children. Through singing,
dialogs and drawing, this class provides youngsters a fun and language immersing
learning environment.

'premium' lessons that have extra stuff (flashcards, recording mode to hear your
own pronunciation, etc) for 7 days. After the initial 7 days, if you don't subscribe
